Hybrid OFA Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Technician course
Full Description
This course meets the job performance requirements defined in NFPA 1006, 2021 edition, Chapter 8. These rescue skills are applicable to vehicle events involving common passenger
vehicles and environments.

Students will be introduced to many different aspects covering vehicle design, access, and disentanglement of victims while developing a planned response all the way through termination of the event. Vehicle stabilization and energy isolation play a large part in vehicle events and will be covered in this class.  With some of the best instructors in the country, students are sure to gain valuable knowledge and experience to be used in the real world and shared among their departments and peers.

Additional information will be available upon course confirmation. Students must complete written and hands-on skill competency evaluations to successfully complete the course. Evaluations of student performance will be conducted throughout the course, and will conclude with a final exam. Students who successfully complete all course requirements are eligible for International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) certification.

Lunch is included but students will still be responsible for all other costs associated with the class (i.e., breakfast, dinner, housing).

Resources Required
Participants will need to bring cut resistant PPE that is appropriate for Auto Extrication (SCBA not required). Appropriate eye and hearing protection is also required. Vehicle Extrication gloves are recommended, though fire service gloves or other cut resistant gloves will be allowed upon inspection by the OFA staff. Clothing should be appropriate for outdoor evolutions regardless of weather conditions.

All chapters and sections are required to be read prior to the start of this course.  Please be advised, average delivery time when ordered from a distributor can be up to three weeks or more.

Reporting Instructions
The online portion of this class opens on June 2nd and the hands on will be on campus July 7th-July11th. Class starts on campus at 0900 hrs. on July 7th and 0800 July 8th-11th
