Brief Description: Virtual Instructor-Led version of Shaping the Future (F0602)

Full Description: This course is designed to assist first- and second-level supervisors and Company Officers (COs) in developing knowledge and skills in contemporary approaches to organizational problem-solving.

Topics include:

Use of creative approaches to identifying trends within their organizations.
Applying problem-solving methodologies.
The importance and application of continuous improvement within organizations.
How to quantify problems and solutions.
Factors in organizational and individual resistance to change.
Strategies for implementing change.

The course incorporates facilitated, student-centered methodologies, including lecture, small and large group activities, and individual assessments.

Prerequisites: Volunteer Support Grant Program

I am a Volunteer Firefighter for purposes of Volunteer Support Grant Program if both of the following apply to you:

1. You are affiliated with or are endorsed by an Ohio volunteer fire department, a fire department of a political subdivision or fire district of this state, or a private volunteer company, as a firefighter;
and
2. You are NOT eligible or will NOT be eligible to be a member of the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund.

If you commenced work as a firefighter prior to November 8, 1990, please email the OFA at ofaweb@com.state.oh.us so that the OFA can assist in determining status.

Fire Chief attestation for volunteer firefighter support grant

Resources Required: HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS FOR TEAMS ON A WINDOWS PC
Computer and processor: Minimum 1.6 GHz (or higher) (32-bit or 64-bit). Memory 2.0 GB RAM, Hard disk 3.0 GB of available disk space, Graphics hardware Minimum of 128 MB graphics memory.
Devices: Standard laptop camera, microphone, and headphones/ear buds.
For a better experience with online meetings, we recommend using a computer that has a dual-core processor and 8.0 GB RAM (or higher).
The optional Background video effects are not supported on processors without an AVX2 instruction set running on Windows 8.1 or below.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS FOR TEAMS ON MOBILE DEVICES
Android: Compatible with Android phones and tablets. Support is limited to the last four major versions of Android. When a new major version of Android is released, the new version and the previous three versions are officially supported.
iOS: Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Support is limited to the two most recent major versions of iOS. When a new major version of iOS is released, the new version of iOS and the previous version are officially supported. The optional Blur my background video effect on iOS requires an operating system of iOS 12 or later and is compatible with the following devices: iPhone 7 or later, iPad 2018 (6th generation) or later, and the iPod touch 2019 (7th generation).

For the best experience with Teams, use the latest version of iOS and Android.

Reporting Instructions: Class meets on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Please sign in approximately 10-15 minutes early to ensure your system is compatible with the MS Teams environment.

Documents: This Document must be submitted by the fire chief to use the Volunteer support grant program.
