Full Description: Do you know the actual pump discharge pressure to ensure you are pumping the proper flows for today’s fires? “As goes the first line, so goes the fire” is a well known phrase in the fire service. However, this adage can be completely overshadowed if the first line is not set up for success long before the fire happens. This course evaluates your departments hose and nozzle packages. It builds upon information taught in the pump operator 1 course and provides department specific information regarding the effectiveness of your attack and supply lines. The classroom portion of the course discusses the intricacies of all different types of nozzles, hoses, and loads. It further discusses which of these work well together and more importantly which do NOT. This information is then reinforced with hands on evolutions that provide HARD FACTS of flow rates, pressures, and nozzle forces. Upon course completion students will have a better understanding of the elements that make a highly effective hose and nozzle package.
