This one-day course focuses on the knowledge operators need to be successful on the fire ground. It covers advancements in pump controls technology of today’s pressure governors without forgetting the operational nuances of old-school analog controls. The class contains
classroom and theory elements, as well as field operations focusing on initial attack from tank water, hydrant operations and drafting water from a static source. Students will learn the proper pump discharge pressure to give the desired flow to the attack team, how to use and manipulate a pump chart, and rough estimate methods to provide the flows to the fire ground.
