Brief Description: Virtual Instructor-Led version of HazMat Awareness/Operations T-t-T, NFPA 1072 Update

Full Description: This course is for current OFA "Adjunct" Hazmat Awareness/Operations instructors, or Ohio certified Fire Instructors that are interested in becoming "Adjunct" Hazmat Awareness/Operations instructors for the Ohio Fire Academy.

"Adjunct" instructors are authorized to teach OFA Hazmat Awareness and/or Operations courses and are provided the materials to teach the class. However, they do not receive any type of compensation from the SFM/OFA. The "Adjunct" will schedule the training with the requesting agency and work out any type of compensation directly with that agency.

The Ohio Fire Academy is transitioning away from the ‘Ohio Hazardous Materials’ curriculum to the Jones & Bartlett Hazardous Materials curriculum. This course is designed for those individuals that teach hazardous materials awareness and/or operations level courses as "Adjunct" employees for the Ohio Fire Academy. If you currently teach Hazardous Materials Awareness and/or Operations Level classes using the ‘Ohio Hazardous Materials’ curriculum and would like your students to continue to receive OFA course completion certificates, you must attend one of these update course offerings.

Prerequisites: Previous completion of a HazMat Awareness/Operations Train-the-Trainer course.
Letter from fire chief or training supervisor recommending you as a Hazmat Instructor.

Resources Required: HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS FOR TEAMS ON A WINDOWS PC
Computer and processor: Minimum 1.6 GHz (or higher) (32-bit or 64-bit). Memory 2.0 GB RAM, Hard disk 3.0 GB of available disk space, Graphics hardware Minimum of 128 MB graphics memory.
Devices: Standard laptop camera, microphone, and headphones/ear buds.
For a better experience with online meetings, we recommend using a computer that has a dual-core processor and 8.0 GB RAM (or higher).
The optional Background video effects are not supported on processors without an AVX2 instruction set running on Windows 8.1 or below.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS FOR TEAMS ON MOBILE DEVICES
Android: Compatible with Android phones and tablets. Support is limited to the last four major versions of Android. When a new major version of Android is released, the new version and the previous three versions are officially supported.
iOS: Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Support is limited to the two most recent major versions of iOS. When a new major version of iOS is released, the new version of iOS and the previous version are officially supported. The optional Blur my background video effect on iOS requires an operating system of iOS 12 or later and is compatible with the following devices: iPhone 7 or later, iPad 2018 (6th generation) or later, and the iPod touch 2019 (7th generation).

For the best experience with Teams, use the latest version of iOS and Android.

Reporting Instructions: Login at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time in the event you may have any technical issues.

Signup Details: Online from 10:00 to 12:00. Enrolled students will receive an email containing a link to access the course online. This course is only for current OFA Intermittent or "Adjunct" instructors.

In addition to completing the update, you will also be required to sign the OFA Instructor Code of Conduct and agree to attend updates whenever there is change in the NFPA standard, if you wish to continue representing the Ohio Fire Academy as an "Adjunct" Hazmat instructor.
